Welcome to Your Journey
Yoga Teacher Training is one of the most important decisions you will make for your future. It is the first step in you taking time to invest in something greater than self! That is yoga ~ selfless & serving.
Not everyone decides to take the program to become a teacher. Self-improvement & quality of life are also reasons why students join. The tools & experiences you gain are universal & may be applied to all aspects of your life ~ these elements combined allow for truly holistic programming.
With thousands of students successfully graduating as 200 Hour Yoga Teachers, our program is recognized worldwide. We planted our roots in 2010 & have continued to grow our community with the most amazing students and teachers.
Our faculty of Registered Yoga Teacher Trainers are here to support you each step of the way.
We are committed to your success!
Your Global Leader in Yoga Education Since 2010
Salla Raine
Alumnus 2018
I felt supported & cared for throughout this yoga training program, thanks to the team’s passion for sharing the teachings of yoga.
When I completed the program, I felt able and confident.
What is 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training?
Simply put, the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training certification is the first program that any student takes to become a Certified Yoga Teacher. It is often referred to as the Foundation Training or Level 1 program.
A student does not need to take any further training in order to teach in the public domain. The 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training satisfies this requirement. Successful graduates will be able to obtain liability insurance, Yoga Alliance membership, and pursue teaching opportunities.
There is no pre-requisite required to enroll in 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training.
About Us
Who Are We?
We are a community of like-minded yoga teachers using the practices of mindfulness, yoga, and meditation to create a better world for all.
Our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training faculty consists of Nancy Frohlick, Juan Villegas, Mark Atherton, Angela Inglis, Emily Kane, Andrea Nacey, and Helene Whitfield. Combined, we have over 40 years of Yoga Teacher Training experience.
Why Do We Do This?
There are many reasons to create an online global home and community, above all we aim to create a lasting impact in people's relationships with themselves, others, and the earth.
Our teachers are real people, just like you, and they have created a curriculum that is accessible to and for everyone. We believe in living ethically and consciously and our program reflects this ethos.
Why Online Yoga Teacher Training?
Online yoga programming gives people the opportunity to develop a practice and skill-set in the comfort of their own home. We believe in offering quality programming at a fraction of the cost of live trainings in remote locations.
Our online program creates a safe, welcoming environment, removing any of the limitations that may be present with physical studios. In addition, we are making an impact on the environment by reducing our carbon footprint. Our lectures and videos highlight some of the most pristine and beautiful locations on the planet, bringing the beauty of the earth to your online yoga teacher training.
With every new student that joins us, together, we are making a difference.

Curriculum & Evaluation
Curriculum
Like all Registered Yoga Schools, our yoga teacher training program is required to offer a curriculum reflective of the essential components that all new yoga teachers need. Within these requirements is where prospective students will find differences in how the curriculum is delivered.
Our curriculum has an intense focus on technique training, which is key for new teachers. In addition, our program offers a variety in many areas of yoga and yogic lifestyle to ensure authentic yoga programming. We exceed the Yoga Alliance suggested 200 hours of learning because we believe that the additional learning hours do make a difference ~ the difference between a teacher and an instructor.
The program is taught by all members of our faculty, collectively. This allows for a vast breadth of knowledge and to be able to experience different perspectives.
Modules of our Curriculum include:
Program Manual | 225 Pages
Asana Manual | 110 Pages
Anatomy Manual | 98 Pages
Evaluation
Evaluation is a key component of your training certification. To be successful and to be certified as a Yoga Teacher, the following criteria must be met:
- Full completion of all sections of the online program
- Final Written Exam (40 marks) ~ a successful student must have a grade of 32/45 or higher
- Final Practicum Exam | Flow Creation & Video Class, 50-60 Minutes (Pass | Fail)
If you are unsuccessful in your first attempt during evaluation, we will work with you and address areas of concern, and then you can try again. You will not need to pay program fees again.

Brilliant! I cannot describe it any better than that. There were so many new ideas and concepts of yoga that I have never come across. I was so moved by the chant portion (and Mark's chanting) that I have added it to my teaching.
Love you guys!
Frequently Asked Questions
We know that deciding which program to choose is challenging. We believe in transparency and have addressed potential questions you may have. This is a great way to decide if this is the program for you. Here are the answers to our most frequently asked questions.
In this changing climate, is online programming now recognized with Yoga Alliance?
This is the question on everyone's mind. The answer is, YES!
On September 25, 2020, Yoga Alliance confirmed it is now approving all registrations until the end of 2023. This means that if you register for our training before December 31st, 2023, you will receive Yoga Alliance Approved Certification ~ you do not need to finish the program by then, just be enrolled.
Yoga Alliance is at a crossroads; they understand that live, in-person programming is no longer accessible, affordable, or equitable for every student. In all honesty, it never was. The global COVID crisis has made this very apparent. Schools all over the globe are petitioning Yoga Alliance to change the mandate immediately, to approve online programming, permanently.
Is this program just for people who want to teach yoga?
Absolutely not! Anyone wishing to delve deeper into their practice is welcome to join us. The skills and tools you learn in the program can be applied to many aspects of life. Yoga does not just happen on the mat ~ it happens in every moment!
Is this course suitable for beginners or people without any yoga experience?
Yes, regardless of where you are with your practice, we welcome you. Our program ensures that you will be able to succeed with little or no yoga experience.
Is age an issue?
Yoga knows no age and it is never too late or too early to start. All students must be a minimum of 18 years of age to take the program, but from there on everyone is welcome. If it is any inspiration, our oldest graduate (Khatun Dhamji, December 2012) was in her late 70’s!
How physically fit do I have to be? What if I have mobility issues?
We welcome you, where you are. What that means is that not every student will always be able to do every single pose. It is about learning how to teach the pose, even if you have limitations physically, which prevent you from demonstrating. Our program is not about trendy yoga. It is about learning, with the notion that we are all perfectly imperfect.
Do I need to be fluent in English?
We welcome students from all backgrounds and ethnicities. All students should be fairly fluent in the English language (reading, writing & speaking).
What styles of yoga will I be certified to teach?
You will be certified in both Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga.
Will I receive a yoga teacher training certificate after completing this course?
Upon successful completion, you will receive an official 200 Hour Hatha | Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training Certificate.
Will my teaching certificate be recognized, globally?
Absolutely! We have students from the U.K., Germany, France, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Canada, U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Spain, and more! Teachers will be able to obtain liability insurance by presenting their teaching certificate. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be able to teach in a public setting. Hundreds of our graduates have gone on to teach classes at studios, online, gyms, corporate events, etc.
Do I automatically graduate, or receive a certificate if I pay for the course?
No. In order to successfully graduate from any training program we offer, you must successfully meet the graduation criteria. It serves no purpose for us to simply pass students who are not ready or able to teach yoga. It is unfair to you, to the public you may teach, and to the integrity of our programming.
No need to be anxious. All items on each evaluation will be covered in advance and our goal is to ensure you are prepared. Your success is our success!
Are there any live sessions in the program?
No, the entire program is on-demand.
Do I require an internet connection while taking the program, or can I view lectures offline?
Yes, you will require a reliable internet connection as the entire program is web-based. Video content is not downloadable for offline viewing.
You will also require the most up-to-date version of the Google Chrome browser. Our programming is most compatible with this browser.
What does self-paced, on-demand learning mean?
What this means is that the program does not require any group study, or attending particular tutorials at specific points in the training. You set the pace for your learning. You move through the curriculum when and as you want. Students can go back and review sections as many times as needed. The entire program is pre-recorded so that it is on-demand, available to you, always.
If the program is on-demand, what opportunities are there for faculty support and interaction with other students?
We have four key tools and resources that we provide to students to ensure they have a truly interactive and engaging experience.
- The program has an internal Q&A forum where students engage with one another and faculty throughout the program.
- We have a private FB Group for alumni and faculty - it has hundreds of members. This platform is active daily with interaction between peers and teachers alike.
- Each month, faculty holds a live Q&A session. If you are not available at the set time, you may submit questions prior to the session and they will be addressed. It is recorded and made available to all students.
- We have a dedicated Student Support Centre staffed by faculty and our administration team. This is available 7 days a week.
- Each week, a faculty member holds a Live, Student Development session. If you cannot join in live, that's ok. All sessions are recorded for you to watch anytime!
- Also, each week, a faculty member holds a Live, Yoga Practice. If you cannot join live, that's ok. You can always watch the replay on-demand.
As you can see, you will never be left without the ability to reach us and have your questions and queries addressed. We understand how important support is for online learning.
If I am pregnant, can I take this program?
Many of our students are pregnant or planning to have a child soon. We begin each program with a clear outline of what modifications need to happen. Yours and your baby's well-being is our first priority.
When I go to purchase the course, I notice a price difference. Why is that?
All program fees are subject to GST (5%). This is collected on behalf of CRA and does not come to us; taxes are remitted directly to the CRA.
Why do prices vary so much from one school to another?
This is an excellent observation! We know that price points vary all around the globe; from $500 to $3,000. Because these are not live, in-person trainings, any school that charges in excess of $1,300 is selling at an unethical price ~ they know it, and so should you. As you review programs, you will know where you feel most comfortable. We always say, listen to your intuition, it is never wrong.
Once I begin the program, how long do I have to complete it?
From the time you register, you will have lifetime access to complete any programming we offer.
The beauty of our online yoga teacher training is that it is a completely self-paced program - you decide when you start and when you finish. Ideally, working through the program without large gaps in time works best, but we appreciate that life is complicated.
How long will it take me to complete the program? Will it take 200 hours?
How long it takes, is really up to you and will depend on your availability. This program will take 200 hours, so work on a schedule that makes learning and life workable for you.
Can I take this course if I have completed another 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training?
Absolutely! In fact, many of our students completed other 200 Hour programs. Some students are looking for a refresher and others simply have a thirst for knowledge.
Will I be able to confidently teach yoga classes upon completion of this program?
This online yoga teacher training program has been designed to help you learn all types of techniques to ensure you can teach classes safely and with confidence.
Does my access to the digital course materials expire?
No, you will have full access to updates and revisions, even if you have completed the program. Many of the resources in the program are also downloadable, so those are yours to keep always.
Why am I required to join the online yoga class streaming platform?
The online streaming platform, at $8 CDN per month, is a tool we use while you are actively engaged in the program. A very small percentage (2%-3%) of the program is accessed via this platform. Once you have completed the program, you are free to cancel that. You can also place your access on hold at any time you are taking a break from your training program. Most students find the platform extremely helpful after they have completed the program, but the choice is yours!
What does the evaluation process look like?
There are 2 phases in evaluation: 1. the Online Written Exam (40 multiple choice questions), 2. the Practicum Video Exam. All evaluations are marked | graded by teachers from your program.
If you have completed your course work, you will be successful in the written exam.
Students are always anxious about the practicum exam when they start the program. By the time you are ready to submit the practicum, you have all the tools you need to be successful. The entire program prepares you for this submission.
There are specific criteria that you must include in your practicum and this information is made very clear in advance. You will have ample opportunity to ask questions, connect with your teachers and support staff. before creating your practicum video. You will also have access to a number of resources, including sample practicum videos, so you can see what yours should look like. And if technology is not your forte, we have "How To" videos to help you with the technical aspects of creating your practicum video.
We are here to guide you every step of the way!
What if I am unsuccessful in my evaluations?
While this happens very rarely, we will work with you and address areas of concern, and then you will try again. You will not need to pay program fees again.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, we offer payment plans. We understand that times may be challenging and financial resources can be limited.

Thank you for this program. The teachers are so inspiring. I enjoyed so many elements, and learned so much about holistic elements of yoga.
I felt ready to teach and I am grateful for all your support. The community you have built is wonderful.
I continue to stay in touch with the teachers and my peers; when I need them, they are there!
I hope to take my 300 Hour training soon!

My training forever changed me. I truly couldn’t have picked a better program. I loved how it was broken down with the different teachers. Together, they were the most amazing role models.
It taught me discipline and meditation. I am now studying Ayurveda and I would’ve never known about this ancient form of healing if it wasn’t for Your Yoga Flow. The asanas are only a quarter of what yoga truly is. Yoga is union. This training truly felt so so special.

When I began looking for a teacher training in 2014, I slowly developed a list of necessities to find the right one. Your Yoga Flow met every one of them!
Having discovered this program, my life has forever been changed. I now look at life through a different pair of eyes. What they offer are not just yoga lessons and a certificate saying you can teach, they help us open up our minds, bodies and hearts to another side of living.
